Senior R&D Engineer / Project Manager

Qualifications:

• Bachelor/Master Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in heavy equipment, heavy industry. Experience in the drilling industry
• Experience / knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) - non-linear especially
• Strong experience with fluid dynamics

Key Responsibility

The primary duty of this job is to design and develop new and current solutions. Our primary activity is the design, marketing, and rental of cutting-edge downhole drilling equipment for the upstream Oil&Gas sector worldwide.

We have a flat organisation, and although you are not a manager: it is expected that you can take the lead and know how to manage a project. You are a Subject Matter Expert (SME), with leading capabilities.

Your other duties will consist of:

• Responsible for the R&D tasks within the R&D team
• Developing a project plan including budget, requirements and planning
• Designing and developing of new and existing mechanical solutions in CAD 3D software
• Knowledge in Non-Linear Finite Element Analysis (including contracts, pre-tension bolts)
• Developing and coordinating, laboratory tests for evaluating critical parts in designs
• Determining component specifications (material, hardness, treatment)
• Coordinates production and controls quality documents
• Responsible for patent research, writes patent enquiries and submits papers
• Maintaining technical files, product- and user/training manuals and other relevant technical documentation
• Patent research and writing of patent enquiries
